Sustainability
Here at the Anfield Shop - sustainability is key to how we run things. Starting with recycling and reuse policies in place since Day 1, we recently completed an energy audit and learned about how we could further reduce waste and understand our environmental impact as a shop. As a result we’ve developed our sustainability policy - let’s dive in:
Reuse & Recycle
We love to reuse and recycle! We do this through:- Reuse packing materials and cardboard boxes
- Moving from plastic polymailers to eco-friendly biodegradable mailers and packaging
- Recycling as many consumables as possible in daily operations, including: paper, plastic from incoming shipments, aluminum, used ink cartridges
Paperless
We’re paperless! There is no packslip included with your order and all information about your order, returns, contact information, etc can be found on the site. Allison runs the customer service department and can be reached at 360.598.2211 with any questions.
Carbon Neutral Shipments
All shipments from our shop are carbon neutral! Working with Offset we use industry data and peer-reviewed models to determine how much our CO2 shipments release into the environment, and then work with Pachama to determine the cost of offsetting those emissions. Offset is currently funding the Jarí Para REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation project with Pachama. This is a Verified Carbon Standard certified project that will be verified by Pachama using their monitoring technology. The charges from Offset go towards protecting the existing forest, improving the biomass through better forest management practices, and verifying the progress of the project.
Efficient Energy Equipment
With an in-house apparel printing operation we use only eco-friendly water-based inks on the majority of our designs. Water-based inks are more expensive than traditional plastisol inks but without any plastic waste and are super soft on the garment and better for the environment.
