Hey Reds! The January transfer window has come to an end. All in all, it was a successful one for LFC. We saw a few of our young players go out on loan to get some much-needed playing time. The biggest news came from the signing of a promising Colombian player, Luis Díaz. The twenty-five-year-old was signed from the Portuguese powerhouse, Porto FC. The Reds paid an initial fee of around $50 million to sign Díaz to a five-and-a-half-year contract. It is said that Díaz also had an offer from Tottenham, but he preferred a move to Liverpool, and who can blame him?! Let's take a look at what to expect from this exciting South American winger.
Luis Díaz has been the top performer this season for Porto in all competitions. He will come to Liverpool with twenty-two goal contributions in twenty-eight games. The Colombian's known for his fast and direct style of play, which means he should fit perfectly into Liverpool's and Klopp's system. He also will bring in a serious goal threat, while also creating chances for his teammates. He seems like he will be a perfect addition to LFC'S attack. Mo, Sadio, Diogo, Bobby, and now Díaz, it just doesn't seem fair, does it?
"He's an outstanding player and someone we've been tracking for a very long time. We believe he has everything needed to fit into our way and adapt to the Premier League, both physically and mentally," Klopp told Liverpool's official website.
For all you Reds waiting to add Díaz's jersey to your collection, he will wear number 23 on his back. LFC legends Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler wore this number during their Liverpool careers.
