Reds In Africa
Hey Reds! As many of you may know, the Africa Cup of Nations will start this Sunday. Unfortunately, this means we will have to say goodbye to three of our players for a few weeks. Mo, Sadio, and Naby will be heading to Cameroon to represent each of their countries in the 33rd AFCON. Let's take a look at what to expect from the three Reds and their country in the tournament.
Mo and Egypt 🇪🇬
Of course, Mo will be representing his country Egypt - he is the Egyptian King after all... Unsurprisingly, Egypt will be among the favorites to win the cup. They not only have the best player in the world, (we think anyways) but they also have a strong squad including several Premier League players. Mo is the captain of Egypt and will lead his country out in the first game against Nigeria. Egypt is also the most successful team in AFCON history with 7 previous titles.

Sadio and Senegal 🇸🇳
Another one of the favorites for the tournament is Senegal. With a large part of that being Sadio Mane. Senegal also has one of the best squads in the competition with the likes of Mendy, Koulibaly, Gueye, and Sarr. Mane begins his tournament against Zimbabwe on Monday. Senegal and Guinea are in the same group, which means Sadio and Naby will meet early in the competition. Senegal enters the competition as the best-ranked African team in the FIFA World Rankings, at number 20.

Naby and Guinea 🇬🇳
Guinea will head into AFCON as somewhat underdogs, with only a couple of players who play in the top leagues in the world. However, they do have Naby as their captain. Naby will have his eyes on advancing through the group stages, but he will be playing Mane's strong Senegal team during this. Could Naby lead his team to their first-ever AFCON win?

Despite missing the three Reds playing for our club, I'll be rooting for each of their countries to go as far as possible. I'll also be hoping for Mo and Sadio to finish as joint top goalscorers, with Naby as top assister! Wouldn't that be perfect?
Let's go lads! 🇪🇬🇸🇳🇬🇳
