What they’re about?

The club is about gathering together in a family-friendly environment to cheer on and support Liverpool FC and to support our local community at large. Rain or shine, early or late. The supporters club was born in 2019 and we've currently got over 150 members.

What is the best part about running this OLSC?

The best part of running an OLSC is getting to meet new local LFC fans weekly, hosting traveling Reds as they come to the beach in NJ, and collaborating with other OLSCs in our general area on how we can partner together to continue to build our local supporter fan base together. We also really enjoy watching matches with other OLSC groups when traveling and trading scarves.

What can you expect when you visit your OLSC for the first time?

When joining us at PJ Sweeney’s for the first time, you can expect a large, welcoming group of LFC supporters, good food, great service, and loads of areas within the pub to watch the match. Our most popular area of the pub to watch the matches is in the back bar with a large projector screen with full surround sound audio. All matches are capped off with a group picture that is shared that day to social media.

New Jersey Shore recently hosted a fundraiser for one of their local members, Matt Ashley. Matt recently lost his wife from cancer. Matt is now raising three young boys by himself with the support of his amazing family both here and in Liverpool. OLSC New Jersey Shore decided to do something

What made you make the decision to help with running this fundraiser?

I had been speaking with Matt as well as some of our other local families that are connected with the Ashley’s, and we felt the timing was right to host a fundraiser and help the family. We felt that we could help rally the family through a fundraising event at one of our largest matches of the year.

What were the details of the fundraiser? How did you raise the money?

We raised funds for the family at the event by selling our merchandise, asking for donations, and through a silent auction. Items for our auction were donated by Anfield Shop, our pub PJ Sweeney’s, a local surf shop, The Ashley Family, and our OLSC New Jersey Shore Supporters Club. We ended up raising $4,000 at the event for the family.

We were touched by this story, and were so happy to help with the fundraiser. This OLSC and it's members truly understand what it means to be a Red! YNWA 👏🔴
