How To See A Match At Anfield
Hey Reds! We support the greatest club in the world! Unfortunately, that club happens to be located across the Atlantic! So we don’t get to go to Anfield much. Our geographical location is just the beginning of the battle to obtain a ticket to Anfield! Even Reds born and bred in Liverpool have a hard time getting tickets to watch their favorite team play. However, if you are up for making that long trip to watch the Reds play, I’ll go through some of the best options to get tickets for home games.
OLSCs (Official Liverpool Supporter's Club) are great for several reasons! One of these reasons is applying for match tickets directly through the club. As well as being a member of an OLSC, you will also need an official international membership with the club. You then apply for tickets through your OLSC group with your LFC membership I.D. Your OLSC committee will better guide you through this process once you mention your interest in tickets.
Another option for international fans is to purchase hospitality packages directly through the club. The club offers a variety of matchday packages that offer different experiences on matchdays. These packages are great because they give fans multiple one of a kind experiences before, during, and after the game. Another upside to this is the fact that tickets are available for both Premier League and Champions League games.
If you fancy yourself as a lucky person, then the LFC Foundation's matchday lottery is an option. Obviously, with any other lottery, the odds of winning are not extremely likely or something to rely on. However, you can take comfort knowing that your lottery ticket fee goes to a great cause. The funds raised by the LFC Lotto go directly to support their Military Veterans and adult health programs, re-engaging service men and women back into civilian life through the power of football. The winning tickets from this lottery are usual for some mouthwatering games, so why not test your luck while also helping a great cause?!
Another fellow Red in America wrote a similar article going into some specifics about some of the methods I mentioned above. I recommend checking out her article, as it explains some of the greater details in obtaining a ticket.
Of course, if you manage to get over to Anfield, make sure you tag us on social media! We love seeing Reds experience the beauty of Anfield! 🔴
