January 17th: Anfield Shop's #BettyWhiteChallenge

by Matthew Taylor

The recent death of Betty White truly shook the world. It's not often that a person's death is felt by so many people, of all ages and backgrounds. Betty White was an icon both on and off the screen, becoming a true trailblazer in the industry. She has far too many awards and achievements to list, but her induction into the Television Hall of Fame in 1988 and receiving the Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award in 2010 are perhaps her most notable. White was also a pioneer for women, becoming the first woman to produce her own sitcom in Hollywood.

Betty White was also very well known for her love for animals. She was a loud voice in the plea for adoption. "I have to stay in show business to pay for my animal business," White famously said. Her love for animals has started a global challenge, "#BettyWhiteChallenge." In celebration of what would have been Betty White's 100th birthday, people worldwide are donating to local animal shelters in honor of White.

The Anfield Shop is proud to announce our participation in this meaningful challenge. Join us in honoring the late Betty White's legacy and helping us protect animals in need. All profits on 01/17/2022 will be donated to Kitsap Humane Society.

We miss you Betty!
