It’s Liverpool’s Season To Believe

After Liverpool handled Borussia Dormund 4-0 in their final preseason match I am excited for the season. We are only days away from the EPL kickoff and the energy behind this season is palpable. Our captain Steven Gerrard will rally Liverpool onto the pitch with the same leadership we have all grown to love. He has lifted many trophies in his career. But we all know the one that escapes his personal C.V. The Premiership Title.

Pundits are starting to question how Liverpool can cope with the loss of top scorer to Barcelona. Brendan Rodgers was a busy man in the transfer window as he brought in a lot of new faces to help fortify his campaign this season. Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren in the Southampton raid. Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen, Lazar Markovic from Benfica and now Javier Manquillo on loan from Atletico Madrid. Divock Origi will continue to develop another year at Lille.

Of course with the incoming, some of our players are playing on other squads to get some playing time while others have have moved on. We all know where Suarez went. With Simon Miglonet in goal, Pepe Reina transfered to Germany with Bayern Munich. Connor Coady is now with Huddersfield Town. Luis Alberto is on loan in Malaga, while Iago Aspas is on loan to Sevilla.  Andre Wisdom and Brad Smith are loaned out to West Brom and Swindon Town respectively. Liverpool also released Michael Ngoo, Stephen Sama.

Liverpool’s core still remains the same. If you look at the team that challenged Manchester City to the title last year we still have Daniel Agger, Philippe Coutinho, Jose Enrique, Jon Flanagan, Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson, Lucas Leiva, Martin Skrtel Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Kolo Toure.

Of course this brings us to Steven Gerrard. If there was a storybook ending to this man’s career, this is the season to do it. This is the season to believe. Liverpool can win the title this year. Liverpool was not able to do it for Jamie Carragher, but we must for Steven Gerrard. God is on our side… literally Robbie Fowler is with us again as a Liverpool FC Ambassador. The season is upon us. We go again. This time, we take the league.

I feel it this season. Do you, the Liverpool faithful… believe that this season we will win the league? We are back in the Champions League. Are you ready for that? What do you think our chances are this season? Where do you think we’ll finish. Which signing is the next piece in the foundation of Liverpool?  Anfield Shop wants to know what you think? Steven Gerrard Officially Joins Instagram

On June 3rd, Liverpool FC’s 122nd birthday, captain Steven Gerrard officially joined the social media sphere with his first post on Instagram. Pictured above in between recent Anfield signing Rickie Lambert and Daniel Sturridge, he released his first official post:

“Hello to everyone from Miami, my first official Instagram post. Nice to share it with fellow Reds @dstudge and Rickie Lambert, I’m delighted he’ll be with us next season. Also happy 122nd birthday to LFC!”

You can follow him at @stevengerrard on Instagram, all throughout Brazil. Following Gerrard on social media gives you a candid glimpse into the life, along side a close look at the preparation for World Cup in Brazil, along with great shots of his England and LFC teammates. England starts their World Cup campaign with a match versus Italy on June 14, with Uruguay (facing Sebastian Coates and Luis Suarez) and Costa Rica.

We are only days away from the start of the World Cup in Brazil. I love club football, but we can all agree that the World Cup bring a whole new energy to the pub. Let us know at The Anfield Shop on Social Media, who do you think will lift the World Cup this year?

Winning is Contagious

The last couple matches have been absolutely brilliant for us Liverpool FC fans.  From the demolition of Arsenal to the comeback victory against Fulham, the team is on a roll.  Sadly today’s loss means that the team is out of the FA Cup but there’s plenty of points to play for in the League.

Here at the shop we’re continuing to add new products every week.  So check back often!

Signed Memorabilia at The Anfield Shop!

Hi everyone,

Well, another summer has gone, and fall is just around the corner.  It’s not too early to start thinking about holiday gifts, and what could be better than an autographed item of your favorite star???  The Anfield Shop has a huge selection of signed memorabilia!

All of the Anfield Shop’s signed memorabilia is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Exclusive Memorabilia’s company director. It features a numbered hologram that matches an identical hologram affixed to your product, and shows an image of the player signing the product line at the relevant session.

The first item is a superb photo that was personally signed by Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, in a private signing session arranged and attended by EM in London on November 29, 2011. The photo shows Luis’ trademark goal celebration after he scored against Wolves on September 24, 2011 in a 2-1 Liverpool win at Anfield. It is a sight Liverpool fans have grown to love.  The photo measures 12″x16″.

The next item is a superb photo montage that has been signed by the three goalscorers in the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul. Liverpool were 3-0 down at half time before their stirring fight back with goals from Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso. Liverpool went on to overcome AC Milan on penalties. Gerrard signed the photos on September 26, 2011 in Liverpool; Vladimir Smicer on September 21, 2011 in Prague and Alonso on October 27, 2011 in Madrid. This stunning photograph measures approximately 12″ x 16″.

The third item is a Istanbul photo signed by Steven Gerrard, our own Captain Fantastic! Signed by Stevie during a private signing session arranged by our friends at Exclusive Memorabilia. This awesome photograph measures approximately 12″ x 16″.

All items will ship directly to you from the UK and will come with a COA from Exclusive Memorabilia.

These three photos are just a small sample of what the Anfield Shop has to offer in terms of signed memorabilia.  Be sure to look at the “signed memorabilia” tab to see more items signed by your former and current Reds!

Until next time,

Darren

O Captain! My Captain!

Our bad injury situation just got worse. Captain Stevie is now out for the last stretch of games.

The famous Walt Whitman poem was written after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Unlike honest Abe, Stevie will be back, next season and although he will be unable to be on the pitch until then, he will most definitely be advising his troops on proper battle strategies during training.

We’re going to find out a lot about our Liverpool boys in the last few remaining matches. Here’s to hoping what we find out is well worth knowing!

“O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills;
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning.”
